In the past, many towns and neighborhoods had rigidly separated businesses. It was not uncommon to find towns and areas with one bookstore, one grocery store, one coffee shop, etc. However, as time has gone by, our ideas about what individual business is has expanded and changed.
Today, we almost expect to find bookstores that carry music, and grocery stores that serve coffee. Increasingly, we have come to expect everything in our lives to be multipurpose to best suit or needs. That is now even true when it comes to the world of medicine.
The field of medicine is wide and varied. In the past, all medical procedures were done in doctor’s offices or hospitals, regardless of their severity or scope. This was totally understandable for something like open heart surgery, but as time went by we began to collectively question why minor procedures needed to be done in facilities that would be better suited for more serious surgeries.
Thankfully, some professionals have broken away from hospitals and started medical spas. These spas are in many way similar to your typical spa environment. They are oriented to creating a relaxing experience for patients. However, the main difference becomes apparent when looking at the procedures offered and the people who staff the facilities.
